At Penchard, our passion is designing and installing exceptional handcrafted wooden gates.
Our team was approached by a client with a specific vision of the wooden gates that they wanted, and (as usual) we embraced the challenge.
The client wanted a timber automated vehicle gate, one single oak pedestrian gate and two pairs of oak pedestrian gates. All wooden gates needed to be oak.
Our client had also requested that all gates for the property had an ornate circle detail on the top section. This top circle (as seen in the photographs) had a propeller/cross detailing based on an image our team were supplied with.
Handcrafted wooden gates make a big impact on a property, and the electric wooden vehicle gate our team supplied will offer reliable defence with a charming traditional finish. It integrates seamlessly with the stone walls bordering the large property.
For the multiple oak pedestrian oak gates manufactured for this project, we used different bespoke designs with consistent features and styles to create cohesion. The double oak pedestrian gates were fitted with refined steel ironmongery in black. The dark colour of the fittings creates a striking, attractive contrast against the wood.
The spindles, braces and bespoke detailing of the gates are a true sign of the breadth and depth of our team’s skill to finish pieces with such intricacy. The double oak pedestrian gates were fitted between different areas of the exterior and were installed between stone walls and a hedge archway.
Different designs were also used for the single oak pedestrian gates. One was installed in another hedge archway and has intricate bar work and a metal gate latch. It helps divide the areas of the exterior and gives the illusion of moving between separate spaces along with the florae boundaries.
We believe that our team got to clearly display their refined craftsmanship on this project, and we were delighted to bring the client’s vision to life as they had imagined. The quality of the oak will leave a lasting impression for years to come and help uphold security for the property.
Most importantly, the client was exceptionally happy with the final result, and the gates our team created resembled the design reference supplied at the beginning of the project (see image below) wonderfully.
